Life: February 2021

Walking
During the last part of January and most of February, I participated in a challenge to walk every day for 30 minutes over 30 days. The challenge began just when I had got over coronavirus, so was a welcome push to get me back out there exercising again. Although the weather isn't fantastic at this time of year, it was just good to focus on the small things: the tiny signs of Spring around the corner. I have spotted catkins, snowdrops, primroses and some early daffodils, and although no actual deer were seen I did see some deer tracks in the mud. We even saw this unusual hair ice on one of our local walks.

Sewing
I did a bit of a fabric inventory - trying to match what I had to some patterns that I would like to make, but I also put in a fabric order with Minerva this month. So, I haven't actually used up any of my old fabric, but I have sewn a sweater. I have also altered a dress into a skirt. It was one of those dresses that I probably should have returned as you pull it on but I always had the fear that I was going to get stuck in it. It's so much better as a skirt!

40 Before 50
Made a start with my 40 Before 50 list by starting my Sourdough starter (17) in preparation for making a sourdough loaf. It's only on Day 2 of the initial feeding stage so will post back when I produce something decent. I have also begun on no. 18 by purchasing the The Forager’s Calendar by John Wright.
