Home: Mountain Mural Bedroom
There has not been any sewing going on in this heat, but I have still been creative! Fred (my youngest) sat his GCSEs this summer and I promised him a bedroom redecoration over the summer. Here are the before photos (it's not pretty):

Never one to make it easy for myself, I persuaded him to embrace a mountain theme, which I have been pinning away on Pinterest.
Unfortunately, I had a strong red wall (LFC fan) to contend with which took three coats of brilliant white before it was ready to paint. Three walls are painted in Dulux Ocean Ripple (light + space), which is a very pale turquoise.
Here are some "in progress" shots of the mountain mural:
The mountain mural is comprised of the Ocean Ripple, Peppermint Beach 3 and Proud Peacock (all Dulux). The quality of the paint is amazing, and no, I am not being sponsored by them 😄!
I sketched out my mural on an A3 sheet of paper before marking it out on the wall in pencil. I worked from light to dark down the wall, doing two coats on each section. Then I used a combination of frog tape (so much better than own brand masking tape) and a flat watercolour brush with a steady hand to mark off the lighter sections as I painted the darker.
I'm still looking for a large pine tree decal to add but am really pleased with the result. It's still a bit of a work in progress as a new desk and chair are required
