Conclusion

So, I finally finished the invitations, with their silver dots and swirls which look beautifully decadent, and sent them up to my sister, Amy. And lo and behold I received in the post today a black envelope containing my own invite to her party! I have received a lovely bottle of Champagne as thanks.

My gingerbread house had pride of place on the Governors' gingerbread stall at the Christmas fayre. I drew up a grid system with names of local streets written on and the children then had to guess which street the gingerbread house was in. A great success!
