Bakelite Museum

Yesterday, my husband and I had one of those rare moments where both boys were off with friends so we seized the opportunity to go to the, somewhat bizarre, Bakelite Museum in Williton. It is a personal collection and is an absolute treat to anyone who doesn't like traditional museums. Here you can even rummage through drawers!

I would love to have sat and read this "Good things to cook and eat"!
In the kitchen area there are all sorts of kitchenalia from lemon squeezers to fridges in which there may be a lobster or other such random object. There are also multitudes of egg cups and napkin rings.
The inside of the caravan - step back in time.
The garden housed two caravans - this was such a homely little place.
This is my favourite - a shelf full of Homepride Freds
And, the tea and cake is really yummy - you can sit indoors in a sweet little cafe with bone china cups and bakelite handled cutlery.

  1. Just found your blog through DeeDee's Vintage Delights - The bakelite museum is great isn't it? We have been many times over the years as Patrick is a friend, and often drank tea from his vintage cups too!
Where abouts in Somerset are you?
